• Bike Donations
Donating a bike is a great way to support low-income community members who may not be able to afford a bike to get to work or school. Bicycling helps youth and adult residents become independent from relying on others for transportation.
To donate a new or used bike, please contact our administrative team at 559.498.0870 x105 to make arrangements. We will accept new or used bikes with functioning brakes. The bikes must be in functioning condition or require minimal repairs. We also accept bike parts but not bike frames.
• Zumba Workshops in Orange Cove
Thanks to an agreement between the City of Orange Cove and the Kings Canyon Unified School District, Orange Cove residents are now able to use two of the school sites for physical activity opportunities through a Joint-Use Agreement. Considering the lack of safe spaces to play and be active, and the high rates of obesity for Latinos in Orange Cove, this agreement comes at an important time. Residents are utilizing the Joint-Use Agreement for low-cost Zumba classes twice weekly. Zumba offers residents a fun way to get fit while listening to upbeat Latin music.
Your donations help cover the cost of certified instructors to lead the classes and for future expansion of classes to other school sites. Classes like these increase opportunities for residents to live active lifestyles.
